Apprenticeships

Apprentices at Leo Lynch experience accelerated on-the-job learning and exposure to many aspects of our business. At the end of their program, they are awarded a Further Education and Training Awards Council (FETAC) National Craft Certificate. This certificate has national and international recognition and is a compulsory requirement for craftsperson status.

How it works

Apprenticeships are registered with SOLAS and must complete seven phases with SOLAS and Leo Lynch during their apprenticeship. The apprenticeship’s seven phases consist of three off-the-job and four on-the-job SOLAS. The Department of Education and Science have responsibility for providing the off-the-job training, whilst your on-the-job training will take place on site with Leo Lynch.

Leo Lynch encourages qualified tradespeople into the business to develop their careers further. We recognise the need to ensure our employees are exposed and up-skilled in the latest technical developments associated with their trade. We invest in training and education, and ensure the highest standards of health, safety and governance are applied throughout the organisation.

During the course of the apprenticeship, apprentices will be required to undertake an induction, attend college and work on live projects. Apprentices work 39 hours per week, as well as overtime when requested, and will report to their site foreman/mentor. Apprentices can be transferred across our sites during their apprenticeship.
